Welcome New CFA Coach, Connie McBride!! by William Albritton

These are exciting times at CFA! We are going to be bringing you a lot of new things this year – regular nutrition seminars, Whole 9 & CFA Nutrition Guide, additional endurance programs, after school CF Kids program, mobility classes and much more – but we will not lose sight of the foundation of CFA which is the regular classes and the community around them.

The key to an effective class is programming, structure, community and COACHING. I think you all agree that we have some AMAZING coaches!

To further enhance the coaching, we are pleased to announce that Connie McBride will be joining the CFA staff! Connie will bring with her a wealth of strength and conditioning knowledge. She has coached at CrossFit CenTex near Fort Hood and trained at one of the premier gyms in the country – CrossFit Central’s RedBlack. Her CrossFit Specialty Certifications include Movement & Mobility, Gymnastics, Advanced Gymnastics and Endurance.  She is a certified personal trainer through American Fitness Professionals and Associates as well as the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Connie has coached and trained under 7-time USAA National Champion Olympic Weightlifter, Chad Vaughn. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.

Connie says she “loves nothing more than helping to change lives”.  “I am fiercely loyal, stubbornly strong, and will always give my best.  I have always had a heart to help others and being a coach has given me the avenue to do so. You can expect I will apply this effort and inner motivation to your success.”

In addition to coaching a couple classes a day, Connie will be running a Fit Camp (great for beginners), small group and one-on-one coaching and an after-school female high school athlete camp (I’m very excited about this, hence it is in bold). Details coming in the next week on the camps.

Connie will be available for small group coaching and one-on-one sessions starting in March. She is also available now on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Small groups are an excellent way to get started with CrossFit or meet some specific goals. Read more by clicking here to determine if personal coaching is right for you. Over the next few weeks, Connie will be in the gym a couple times a week shadowing classes and getting to know all of you. Our welcoming and inclusive environment has made her “feel right at home”. She says “I appreciate and have much respect for the community formed at CFA”.
