April in The Park (and bring a friend!) by William Albritton

“Saturday in the park, I think it was the fourth of July”…a little Chicago for you.

We are going to get out and enjoy this nice weather! For the month of April starting 4/13, the Saturday classes will be held at Compton Park at 10am (this will take the place of the 9am Intro & 10am regular class at the gym). This event is aimed at getting together the entire fitness community in the area. You do not need to be a member of CrossFit. No sign up. Just show up for some rejuvenating exercise! We will be there every Saturday at 10am in April.

The workouts will be your normal intense sessions that you’ve come to enjoy…or hate. The movements will not be complicated so please feel free to bring a friend that is not a member of CrossFit. If you are a runner or cyclist, this would be a great cross training day so feel free to stop in and join us. There will be no charge for guest or visitors. All are welcome!

Most of us are inside all day and need the revitalization that comes from being outside and in the sun. Our modern day lifestyle has contributed to suboptimal Vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is vital for human health and plays a significant role in reducing the risk of diabetes, cancer, infectious disease, cardiovascular disease and autoimmune diseases. Humans were made to obtain vitamin D primarily from sun exposure. So join us in the park and refresh your body and mind with the outdoors, sunlight, soft grass and a little sweat.
