5 x 5 deadlift

rest

Tabata squats

Congratulations to Stephen, Billy & Lance for finishing the Lone Star Half Ironman in Galveston, TX!!!

Today is a heavy lift day. On heavy days, you push yourself to the limit. If you get all your lifts without failing, ask yourself if you are pushing hard enough. You should be scared of heavy days. If you push yourself, your body will have a phenomenal neuroendocrine and hormonal response that is unparalleled with any other exercise modality. As always, safety comes first. If you have not been instructed on bailing on a failed lift attempt, see a coach for instruction before you lift.

Performance based fitness= 9 prs in the mile on Friday; Kathryn, Shelley, Trish, and  Lisa can do unassisted pullups; prs in the Olympic lifts and 100s of lbs of weight lost…just a few things for your research. A long standing thought in the fitness community is that as a person’s one max rep in lifts such as deadlift increases, a corresponding decrease in performance occurs in body weight and cardio exercises. Shelley pr’d in the mile on Friday and went from not being able to do a single unassisted pull up to knocking out 7 in a row last week…and she has doubled her one rep max in the deadlift.
